Acknowledged
The file upload don't work for me - I tried to upload a DOC into a project and another one in tasks but it didn't work properly. The message is: "Upload Error". What's going on?

Is this happening for a particular file or all the files?

Try uploading small files first

I will be revising the file upload code today but if you have 10 minutes free please try the following two tests so that i could pinpoint and replicate the bug you are seeing.

1) Try uploading a different file, a jpeg for example (try to have it less then 1m). This is to determine if that specific file is causing a problem

2) Try disabling javascript in the browser then go to the files section and try uploading a file. This is to determine if the problem is in the javascript/flash upload code or server side code.

Thank you for your feedback

Hi Ruslan! Thanks for your attention. I tried the two steps and the results are:

1) Uploading jpeg with less than 220kb a message error appears again:

"Failed to upload file[IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2038"]"

2) Disabling javascript: The file was uploaded successfully! But there's anything you can do so I can mantain the javascript enabled for other sites?

I got a question: Why Paymo doesn't have a wiki or a whiteboard for general text messages??

thanks and regards,

Seems like the problem is with the flash part of the upload process.

From what i read there might be two solutions to the problem:

a) Check your flash version player here http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/a...

Mine is 10,1,53,64 (latest) and it works. See if the upgrade of the flash player would help fix this issue.

b) If the above does not work it might be due to a proxy server on your side, a packet filtering software (antivirus), too tight security rules on our server that does not allow slightly malformed posts (that flash is sending). So if a) does not work we will try a different setting on our server

Thank you for your input.

I'm experiencing this issue just recently, the same error message is appearing......

I'm using Safari 5.0.1 and Flash player 10,1,53,64

Failed to upload file[IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2038"]

Seems to be intermittent, not always occurring.

Can you please test if this error pops up for a specific file each time or is it completely random (meaning sometimes you can upload a file and sometimes the upload of the same file fails)

Could you also try to see if you can get the error while uploading a small (100-200K) file?

Thank you for your feedback

It's Random Ruslan,

It's not appeared now for past couple of days - yet have just learnt of a new issue trying to login (have submitted new post)

Will advise/update this thread if i see the error again.

When you have time, can you please do this test:

Try uploading several files (3-5) each under 2mb (best use "sample pictures" from window distribution)

a) Using paymo "Files" section for a project

b) Upload the same files on this page http://demo.swfupload.org/v220/simple...

I am interested to see if you get an upload error on both sites (in which case there is something particular to your setup, some proxy or antivirus) or is this an issue just on paymo (in which case there is something wrong with my implementation)

Hi Ruslan,

No problem using either of these methods using the stock images in XP. I'm seeing it ONLY when i try upload images/documents associated with a task in a task list i've set my team.

Task might say - create something using this pdf as a guide......i load up the pdf and it fails - randomly. it seems to behave best when i've set the task then go back and edit then add files using this method - see screenshot.

Thanks for your assistance

I'm having the same problem as described by Matt (i.e. I only have an issue if I'm uploading to an existing task)... Did you ever find a fix for this?

No we didn't but mostly because we could nor replicate it but your feed back and Matt's narrow it down. We will try to see the difference between adding a file to a task and adding a file directly to the project.
