New Feature Suggestion: Adding Task List template to existing Projects

Please incorporate a feature to add a Task List template onto an existing Project. This is useful when a Project has begun but one forgot to use a template, and time entries have been entered. Without this feature, one would have to manually replicate the list of tasks that already exist as a template.

Other than that, after using paymo for 2 months, I am nothing but impressed, and have recommended it to parties that I think it would benefit.

A task list template would also be useful for recurring tasks within a project

I see 2 ways of adding a task. One from the pop-up Timer. The other from within the Projects tab.

But no way to add a complete task list from an existing template to a old project.

Correct me if there is indeed a way at the moment.

P.S. I like the new Estimate feature. A great way to keep clients updated as to running costs in a professional manner.

Hi Wayne,

you can apply a template only when you start a new project by choosing the template from the dropdown. You can't apply templates to existing projects.

Uh ya thanks Jan... that's why we are suggesting a new feature cause it's functionality that isn't there already that we as users think should be.

sorry Wayne, i missed the word "old" :) in from an "existing template to a old project."

i will change this thread to new idea status and we'll consider adding this in the future. i'll have to be honest though, we're literally flooded with feature requests so i can't give you any estimate about a date.

I was super excited to see the 'create a template' link, but I thought it would work as a task list template that could be added to projects as described above. We are looking at Paymo as a time tracker but were surprised to see it's potential as a project management tool.


Looking forward to using it more.

It looks like nobody's commented here recently, but when I saw the option to save a task list as a template, I assumed that template would be available any time I created a new task list, in any project. I have tasks that need to be repeated monthly for various clients, and want to be able to replicate that task list multiple times within the same project (then make minor edits relative to that month after it's been created), and also to use it with different clients.

I'd like this feature as well. Would make similar but not exactly identical projects much easier to create.

I'd like this feature also. I would also like to be able to add multiple task lists to a project.

I'm a webdesigner and have a task list for webdesign, web development and SEO work. When I only need to do SEO work I would like to add only the SEO tasks, but when I need to do it all I would like to be able to add all the lists.
