Inappropriate?can you reach the backend interface?
-
Inappropriate?I'm having the same issue. Did it ever get resolved?
-
Inappropriate?Yes, I re-installed it and it fixed the problem.
-
I have reinstalled it 5 times and its still not working! -
Inappropriate?are you talking about 3.0.7 version?
while the widget reports being offline, can you connect to the backend? -
Inappropriate?Hi Ruslan, Yes with the new version. I think your site was down. no I couldn't log-in either. I had to uninstall the darn thing three times. Couldn't contiune to log my time from 12 am to 2 am when I finally went to bed. It seems to be working fine this morning.
-
Inappropriate?I've got time recorded via the widget, but not uploaded, so I don't really want to re-install and lose those records. Any alternative?
Also, how do I check the "back-end" connection?
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate? If you are on a mac locate the file /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Preferences/widget-com.tristan.widget.Paymo 3.0.plist
if on windows Paymo.sqlite from the directory where you installed it.
Send the file to support[at]paymo.biz we will investigate it and extract the local saved entries, give you a list of them then you can reinstall the widget -
Inappropriate?I had the same problem earlier on Windows but somehow it was connected to IE not working correctly. Reinstalling widget & reseting IE8 settings fixed the problem with offline status few seconds after turning widget on.
Still I have sometimes problems with sync between online&offline data. I often have "entry not found" message when I try to delete/update entry which was created when working offline.
I’m undecided
-
Inappropriate?Krewetk,
Look for the file "Paymo.sqlite" ( usually in "c:\program files\paymo" ), zip it and sed it over email to support[at]paymo.biz, we will take a look at it and see if there are any entries that didn't make it to the server.
Maybe it will also tell us why you are having this issues -
Inappropriate?Right now everything is fine cause I added these missing entries second time while being online all the time and also removed old sqllite file so new one is created and now I have the same data as on a server right now.
Ok, I'll send this db to the support next time I'll have this problem. -
Inappropriate?I couldn't get it to work after several tries, I ended up re-installing 3.0.7 for now
I’m frustrated
-
you mean you tried 3.0.8 and it didn't work?
Are you using a proxy? -
No, I'm not using a proxy. -
Inappropriate?I just upgraded to 3.0.8 today and it gave me this issue. I have not been able to use the desktop widget all day.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?vanne and Nathan, are you on Mac on Windows, what version are you using?
-

see the change log -
can you please run two commands in the terminal and paste here the results?
nc -z -w1 -v app.paymo.biz 80
and
nc -z -w1 app.paymo.biz 80 > /dev/null; echo $? -
here's the results:
> nc -z -w1 -v app.paymo.biz 80
Connection to app.paymo.biz 80 port [tcp/http] succeeded!
> nc -z -w1 app.paymo.biz 80 > /dev/null; echo $?

Strange, the responses for the commands are correct. I'll investigate more today on a 10.5.8 and see if i can replicate this. -
I am on Windows Vista 64 bit -
Nathan,
Try reinstalling 3.0.8 version. We fixed a "proxy" issue for windows. If it does not work revert to 3.0.7 ( but please tell us if it does not work ) -
Thank you. That worked and has resolved my issue on 3.0.8. -
Inappropriate?Hi - like a few folks above, I also upgraded to 3.0.8 yesterday and am having the same issue. I have reinstalled, uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted, etc., but same results. I'm not sure I know what you mean by "backend connection"; if you mean the normal web interface (companyname.paymo.biz), then yes - no problem accessing it.
The previous version I had worked great!
THANKS!!!!!
I’m slightly concerned
-
Richard, if you are using windows, please try this build
https://yoursubdomain.paymo.biz/timet...
tell us if it worked -
Awesome! THANKS!! -
Inappropriate?Try reinstalling 3.0.8 version. We fixed a "proxy" issue for windows and reverted to the old way of checking connectivity on Mac OS.
The company says
this answers the question
-
Just reinstalled it, so far, so good :) I'll keep you guys posted if anything goes wrong. Thanks -
Inappropriate?I too have not been able to install 3.08, and now I can't re-install 3.05 that worked fine before. Not sure what the proxy issue is. Windows XP. I have reinsatlled a number of times, deleted entries in the register, etc. Still, no-go. The link to the build above doesn't work. Any ideas? I can use the widget launched from the website, and track there, but not on my desktop. It just says Offline...
-
Here is what i suggest:
a) Uninstall the widget
b) Clear IE cache
c) Restore IE advanced settings
d) Set the security to Medium-high
(all the things above are to take IE in it's default state)
e) Reinstall the latest version
If the above fails, here are the links to the old versions but recommend trying to get the latest version running.

Inappropriate? Thanks Ruslan, but none of this worked. I installed all versions. Now neither works. Also, I don't know if it's relevant, but I use firefox, although I still cleared the cache for IE. Still the same result: Offline.

Ok, a few more things to try.
Check it the popup widget works in IE. If it does then try stopping your firewall (windows firewall or things like norton internet security) for a few minutes and try to run the widget them. I suspect when you reinstalled the widget your asked you if you want to allow this program to connect to the internet and you clicked "no" by mistake -
Inappropriate?Hi, I'm running Mac OSX and since some days me dashboard widget doesn't work anymore.
It is markes as "offline" all the time and reinstallation, reboot and logout/relogin do not help.
I do not use a proxy.
Is there a solution already?
-
Are you able to connect to the backend site from that computer?
Is the popup widget (Timer tab) working for you in Safari -
Ok, I just resetted Safari (and my Airport Adapter) and it seems to be working. -
Inappropriate? This is not a "proxy" issue, this usually happens if your internet goes down and then comes back on again!
Just closing and reopening the widget wont help as paymo.exe is still working in the background!
To fix this just go into your "Task Manager" (ctrl + alt + del) and close paymo.exe, then open it up again! FIXED! :)
I’m happy to help... hopefully
-
Michael,
I don't think the issue above relates to your case. If your internet goes down it's normal for the widget to go offline. If it comes back up the widget will detect that and show "online" again (in less then a minute). So there is no need to close it, even offline it retains all the functionality so you don't have to worry about that, just do your work regardless of the connection and the widget will make sure to sync your work back to the server.
One more thing, to close paymo widget you don't need ctrl/alt/del, just right click the paymo icon in the tray then select "Exit" -
I'm using win7 and if my internet goes down and comes back on your widget doesn't "re-connect" automatically... It stays in offline mode untill I either restart my PC or compleat the above method! (Clicking exit doesn't stop paymo.exe from running in the background!... I.e. why you have to re-start or close it via the task manager) -
if this is what's happening then this is a bug. I've never heard of something similar ...
We'll try to test this. -
Thanks... It's not a "one-off" either, it's quite a regular occurence!
