PaymoPlus, link entry to non-task

A lot of the work I do isn't directly related to tasks, but rather general work for a client or project. I don't want to be forced to a new workflow, but I don't know if I can link an entry to a project. It appears that I cannot. Is it possible?

It is not possible to create entries directly related to a particular project. Why not just create a special kind of task that is never completed and call it "general work" an link everything to it?
What's the downside of that?
